MCH Nurses Memories during 86/87 Victorian Nurses' Strike

Maternal and Child Health Nurses Memories of Their Experience during 1986/87 Victorian Nurses' Strike

In 2024, Fran Morris organised a group of Maternal and Child Health Nurses to share memories of their experience of the 1986/87 Victorian Nurses' Strike.

Particular themes are evident in their memories: What a difference it made if a nurses' employer had a positive or negative view of the role of MCH Nursing; That solidarity developed between MCH Nurses when they were working so far away from each other and; The important role of the leaders of the Special Interest Group for MCH Nurses in the RANF in Victoria.

These shared memories are now presented in this publication for all to read and reflect on.
